In the TxSearch linking feature, documents in the database are linked together in a hierarchical list.

Documents in such a table have four links to other documents. These links are next, previous, parent and child. Here is an example.

An outline or hierarchical view of the above documents looks like the following:

  • D1
    • D4
    • D5
      • D7
      • D8
  • D2
  • D3
    • D6

Document linking provides a convenient way for categorizing and sub-categorizing information. Here is an example of a medical reference system.

  • The Human Body
    • The Skeletal System
    • The Nervous System
  • Diseases
    • Infectious Diseases
      • Airborne transmission
      • Insect transmission
    • Non-Infectious Diseases
    • Genetic Diseases
    • Accidents and Emergencies
  • Medical Insurance Plans
    • HMO
    • PPO

TxSearch provides all of its searching capabilities as well as traversing and expanding such lists.
